I grew up in Los Angeles and I'm so sick of the noise, pollution, "urban paradise" and most of all, the outrageous home prices. In L.A. I'll be lucky to afford a townhome in Valencia...in Temecula the same price will get you a beautiful 2 story 4bdroom home! So is it worth moving there for the home values? p.s. I rent and I'm so tired of renting!!!

I lived in Murrieta for 3 years and enjoyed it very much. It can get very hot there. The 15 freeway is becoming more and more crowded everyday. If you are planning to commute, I would give you a thumbs down. As far as the wineries, I visit them frequently. It is not Napa but you can find some good wine. Some of it is overpriced but Temecula Valley Wineries have events several times a year that are alot of fun. I would also decreibe the wines down there as inconsistant. One vintage and one winery good, the next year bad and another winery makes something special. The almond champagne at wilson creek is very popular. I think it is awful but alot of people enjoy it. I would move back there if I did not have to rely on the 15 to get me to work.

Home prices are dropping in Temecula lately because of how far most people drive to work, plus supply exceeds demand, but it's still not cheep. It's really hot in summer. The wineries don't impress me at all. There are no decent reds as they primarily produce whites that are at best ok.

As others have said, the commute on 15 is even worse this year than it's ever been and is only going to get worse. And that's true whether you are going north or south.

Temecula is a warm desolate tract city that became quite overbuilt for the period of the housing bubble. because of the fact it has maximum of foreclosed residences, they're obtainable cheap however the neighborhoods are going downhill quickly. There are few jobs interior the section. And the electrical powered expenses there can hit $500 interior the summertime because of the fact for 4 months of the 300 and sixty 5 days, for the duration of extra days than no longer, the daylight hours temperature will exceed 40C 0r 100F. Temecula is extra maximum budget friendly than l. a. because of the fact that's not that acceptable a place to stay. sure it has department shops and cinemas and all something yet a lot of those are in financial worry. We donot understand how long they are going to final. while you're moving to the rustic, except you're independently wealthy, pick a place to stay per the place you come across a activity. additionally observe that Temecula is a lot too far to circulate backward and forward to a activity in l. a.. And while you're wealthy, circulate closer to the coast.

My parents live in Murrieta and my husband and I are members at a winery out there. Don't be expecting Napa, or anything! It's killer, wicked hot out there in the summer (114 two weeks ago!) and it's not scenic at all. :-) Temecula schools aren't that great (people don't move there for the great schools...they move there to afford the house.) I know it sounds snobbish, but I'm glad my parents moved there AFTER I was out of there house. There's nothing for kids to do and it's wayyyyyyyyy out in the middle of nowhere. Good luck.

Temecula is way crowded, also!!! It is nicer in Yucaipa, Crestline. The 15 has REALLY BAD traffic if you have to drive to LA for work!! I lived in Inland Empire for 30yrs.
