Yes go to California Adventure, there isn't as much to do there as the Magic Kingdom but there some really great things to do. Plus, Disney has just budgeted $1.2 billion to make some major changes so if you want to see it like it is now you will want to do it as soon as possible. Get hopper tickets and spend a day there, some things that you wont want to miss are:
Soarin over California
tower of Terror
California Screamin
Its tough to be a bug
Aladdin, a music spectacular (this is a great, Broadway caliber stage show)
Turtle talk with Crush
Monsters Inc
Golden Dreams
Also see Muppet vision 3D, its a funny show but not real popular out here like WDW and rumor has it they are taking it out and putting in Mickey's Philharmagic.
If you like High School musical they have a show a couple of times a day, its kinda a street show and is performed in a couple of places in the park.
Make sure and stay to see Disney's Electrical Parade just before closing.
Have fun.

Me and my family so loved Cali. Adv. We lived 5 hours away and would go and just hang out there all day. It is so different from Disneyland with still being totally Disney. The Mission Tortilla Factory is so cool. There is also a sour dough bread tour (I can't remember the name of that) The Aladdin show is so awesome. Fun boardwalk with games and face painting. Kid rides and wild big kid rides. We live a lot farther away now and can't go anymore and do we miss Disneyland and especially California Adventure. We had so many wonderful times there. I do hope you go.

Yes. Make sure you don't miss Soarin over California; I've been on it at least four times and still it's my favorite. The Grizzly Peak and It's Tough to be a Bug attractions are good too. Remember, go in to park and right away get Fast Pass for the top attractions.

YES! You may even like it better. It offers more of a an older fair/boardwalk adventure feeling. There are rides as well as plenty of games to play for prizes. In addition, there are restaurants there that are usually not as crowded, and serve alcohol if you are into wines and different beers, as they do have a wine room and a beer brewery.
Definitely give it a shot. It is such a great place and small relief from some of the craziness at Disneyland.
Have fun!

Yes, I would do 1 day there - if you get a multi-day pass I think you can make one of your days a CA day.
Do NOT miss Soaring over California - it is the best ride in CA (get a fastpass if the line is too long).
Grizzly Peak is fun if you don't mind getting wet.
The play is supposed to be quite good.
And the carny-like rides are fun too - but don't waste time standing in the extra long line for the 'rocking' cars on the giant ferris wheel - they don't rock much because the wheel moves so slowly and the line takes FOREVER.
