I recently moved to Elk Grove Village, IL and the area is very family oriented and residential. Plenty of schools, parks, and family type activity. I also love all the biking/walking trails, and the huge fitness facility.

However, I was told there is an incorporated and village area. What's the difference? I remember passing a section towards the airport that was very business/industrial like? Is that considered Elk Grove, IL or still Elk Grove Village, IL?

Are there any stores around those areas where I can buy authentic Polish crafts (souvenirs)? Maybe some of those Polish wooden boxes? Also, where are the best casual Polish dining spots? Same for German and Czech.

Going to Chicago in three weeks, Roadfood.com suggests it and some lady included it in her "1000 places to see before you die book," wondered if I should take a 10 mile train detour for lunch there.

I'm going to Lollapalooza on the 4th, and taking the train into town. I won't have time to drop my bags off at our hotel (it's on the north side, friends from Minnesota booked it because it was convenient for them), so I need a place downtown that can store my bags until about 10:30 or 11:00 when the concert ends. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to find a place to live without being able to tour the city for myself. Also, I don't know anyone that lives or has lived there. I just need to get a good idea of places that are relatively safe within the city limits!
