Mahomet is just another small town. Biggest thing they have is the watertower. They got some big nature preserve called Lake of the Woods. It has a museum on early American life. I never chcked out , maybe soneday.5 minutes down I-74 is the city. Champaign is a pretty classy city by downstate Illinois standards. It has a lot of shopping and resturants on the north side. Downtown is nice also. Urbana is all right. The two cities combined has a little over 100'000 residents. But sorry I have no pictures.

I went to college in Champaign Illinois. What would you like to know? It is located in east central Illinois, roughly 2 1/2 hours south of Chicago on I-57. The three major businesses in the area are agriculture (corn), a Kraft plant and the University of Illinois. Champaign has roughly 90,000 to 100,000 residents and Urbana has roughly 40,000 or 50,000 people.

We college kids always looked down on the townies, but I guess it's not a bad place. Urbana is nicer than Champaign, although I guess that is a matter of opinion.
