Florida's "panhandle" coastal cities, like Destin/ Navarre Beach and Panama Beach are fun to visit. St. Augustine, not far away is pretty cool, too. Those areas have tons of cool tourist attractions and beaches to enjoy.
The hottest central Florida town is Orlando, home to Disney World/MGM and Universal Studios theme amusement parks.
Further south, check out Hollywood-esque Boca Raton, or Miami with it's Cuban accented tourist spots. And if you really want to go tropical......trip down to the Florida Keys, which is actually OFF the state's "main land", dipping a tad into the Alantic!!
Like all other US touristy places: have either plenty of cash or polish up your plastic....and have a safe fun visit wherever you go.

The Fort Walton Beaches and the whole Emerald Coast (most of the Panhandle) put the East Coast beaches to shame.
others:
Miami- good for drinking and partying
St Augustine- great for history buffs and really interesting
Orlando - Mickey mouse and friends
Tallahassee - quiet, charming, natural, green with rolling hills, the capital, home of the Seminoles, and my home!
The Keys - laid back and tropical
Daytona - if you like racing
Jacksonville - good ole' Southern charm and a pretty big city
Ft Myers - good for retirement
