Another Chicago traveler question. I'm seeing a show in Chicago that lets out around 5pm in downtown Chicago and have about 3-4 hours before I have to be at the airport. We wanted to get a feel for Millennium park and check out the city lights from one of the 'towers' in the city but I'm worried about traveling at night, and more specfically getting back to the airport safely too. I had planned on taking Blue line (What does Chicago call it? Rail? Train? Metro? Subway?) but from past experience around rail/subway's it's possible that they are not the best place for a tourist/stranger to be in for a 45 minute ride back to O'hare after nightfall. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Chicago's O'Hare airport was the pits. Hard to get around in and to espically find rental vehicles.
Any information about the Milwakee airport would be of help. Thanks.

The wife and I are going to Chicago this labor day weekend, tomorrow Friday through Monday. We'll be staying in Itasca. Neither of us know the area don't know how to get anywhere. Should we drive to a local light rail/subway terminal and park and take the rail system or should we drive around town? I'm interested in knowing the amount of time each would take and the complexity and difficulties of each decision. What rail station would we use and is there parking to leave the car for a day and pick it up to drive back to hotel each day?

Major Points we plan to see for the weekend:
Museum of Science and Industry
Millenium Park
Chicago River Tour
Navy Pier
Sears Skydeck
Some major art place

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I'm planning a day trip into Chicago for this coming November. We have a limited amount of time, so I was wanting some advice. I'd planned to visit the Sears Tower during the morning, but now I wanted to know a couple of things. Which offers the best view? THe Hancock Building or the Sears Tower? Secondly, are the night views of the city worth trying to switch to an evening visit to one of the towers? Thanks!

I actually have two questions.
1) Where in Chicago would I go if I wanted to go to a concentrated area of clubs/bars?
2) Why does everything in Chicago's Loop close at 6pm and stay closed throughout the weekend?

Los angeles = Celebrities and Traffic and burning weather

New York = Skyscrapers (Far more then Chicago), and being the economic core of america and the only "World City" and the Subway system

Miami = Beaches and hot women

Detroit = Being the ghettoist city and poorest MAJOR city in america

Washinton D.C. = Federal Capital

Las Vegas = Gambling/Casino's

What makes Chicago special?
