Just fly to Santa Barbara....they do have their own apartment. Its a really really tiny airport so I don't know if they have direct flights from Chicago.

Usually they stop in LA, and board another plane. The Santa Barbara airport only has small planes landing...its the kind of place where the plane lands and you just walk down the stairs of the plane into the parking lot and you get your bags outside right there. It's actually a really pretty airport nothing at all like the international airports.

Have a great time....Santa Barbara is so amazing!!!!!

Find the closest airport to Santa Barbara, then start signing up with your email address to the different airlines to have them start sending you offers. American just sent me info from this link: http://www.aa.com/apps/netSAAver/NetSAAverFareSales.jhtml;jsessionid=UZJEAXOMMH33VEAJJNDSKM2QBFFUWVMD

I don't know if it's good for the time period you are looking for but they don't list Santa Barbara. I don't know if SB even has it's own airport. That's why you are going to have to do a little searching. But you need to book those special promotions as early as possible, especially for the holidays. Try Southwest Airlines, Frontier, Spirit, etc.

my sister has made that flight from SB to ORD... United/USAirways/Ted and American both make that trip- right now expedia is showing about $410-450 and up..rt during the xmas period

trips to LAX are cheaper - and there are shuttles you can take for the 2 hour drive up to SB...
