You are way behind in your news. Winona's sad cry for attention or symptom of kleptomania happened YEARS ago. You are not a celebrity who can afford a high priced lawyer to get you a light sentence and you do not work in an industry that will still hire you despite such a stupid lapse in judgment. One conviction for shop lifting can ruin the rest of YOUR life. Every job application you ever fill out will ask if you have any convictions, and may result in your being passed over for an applicant with a clean record. If you ever are called to testify in court for anything, your credibility will be put into doubt because of your conviction for a crime involving dishonesty. If you ever want to teach school or even volunteer at your child's school, your criminal conviction can haunt you and embarrass you. If you want to adopt a child, you will have to reveal your record and explain why you did what you did. And risk being rejected. Is that cloud over your head worth a free scarf or sweater that probably isn't worth any more than one from K-mart, but just comes with an overpriced Saks tag on it?

I could care less where Obama's wife shops nor do I care where Palin shops. I think they both need to dress well as much as they are in the public eye. Also expensive clothes do last longer than Walmarts clothing. What if your dr wore sloppy cheap clothes and drove a junky car. People would think he is not sucessful. By golly dress up and enjoy it! Palin and Obamas wife did without for many years growing up so for God's sake let them enjoy feeling fancy ! I am on my husbands SS and I go to Saks when I get the chance and check out the sales. Yup, I buy in Saks too!

Sure it is. They have one security guard who is 80 years old and sleeps all the time. I say you should go for it!
And save the newspaper clipping when you get caught for your scrapbook! Oh, and if the soap falls in prison, leave it there....

Why would you want to risk your freedom and/or future for something so petty? A conviction for Theft is not worth a cheap thrill.
