i will go in Chicago from 5th to 8th october, i'm looking for an hotel close to downtown, but it seems everything cost more then 100$ at night! Is there anything cheaper, maybe out of the loop, in some nice area and close to a train or metro?

I'll be visiting Chicago November 3rd of this year. I wanted to take or utilize the horse drawn carriages for my girlfriend and I but wasn't really sure of what to see or where to go. Also, how cold is it in early Nov. up there? Thanks,

I want to visit the city around early November and want to see Buckingham fountain at night but I'm not sure if the fountain is open around that time of year. Is it, and if so is it very pleasant or worth seeing this late in the calendar? Also, what’s the best way to get around the city in one day? I will be visiting the Opera house, the Sears Tower, and I hope the fountain. Wasn't for sure what the best way to move around was.

Hi! I'm planning on going to South Bend, IN in a few months, and I'm hoping to rent a car to drive around (I imagine its a lot more convenient than taking taxis everywhere). Anyhow, I am only 19, and I understand that most rental companies require that a renter be 21 years of age. Does anyone know of any options I might have?

Ok so I will be in the loop July 27-29 and I wanted to go to a fun night club friday night. I am looking for something that plays a little bit of everything, has a reasonable cover charge (no more than $10), and is not crowded to the point that I have to elbow my way through the crowd. It will be me and my b/f so I am not looking for a singles bar. The hotel that I am staying at is located off of Clark and Adams. I would like something close by is possible. Thanks for your answers as I will take them all into consideration!

My friend and I want to go, but my parents would have to take us and it's about 8 hours away. My parents don't want to ride any of the rides, but it costs $55 to get in. Instead of paying the extra $110 is there anything in Gurnee, Illinois to do or what are my options so we can go?

I live in LA and thinking of visiting Chicago during the last week of August. I've never been there before. Will it be too hot or humid? Is it a good time to visit?

In the late 1800s, Chicago evolved as a railroad center and all travel east and west came through Chicago. And it was the largest city near the center of the continental U.S. As a result it became a mecca for conventions because of its relative central location. The biggest and most covered conventions were the political parties. There were so many political conventions with long-winded speeches that a Chicago newspaper man said that Chicago had become the "windy city." It had nothing to do with the weather or Mrs. O'Leary's cown.
