Go from LA to Las Vegas (I -10 to I-15)
Las Vegas to Salt Lake City Utah (I-15)
Salt Lake (get on I-80 in Salt Lake) to Illinois boarder, pick up I-88
Stay on I-88 into Chicago.
Most of your time will be in I-80 - one of if not the most boring stretch of road in America.
Just over 2000 miles, plan on 3 days of driving.

Essentially the shortest route is to follow what's left of Route 66: I-10 in Los Angeles to I-15, then I-15 up to Barstow; get on I-40 at Barstow, then take I-40 through Flagstaff and Albuquerque to I-44 at Oklahoma City, take I-44 up to St. Louis then to I-55, and then I-55 from St. Louis into Chicago.

See a movie star; sip a beverage on a rooftop club at sunset; wear a couple of designer sneakers in an ultra-luxurious shop in Beverly Hills; perform at Universal Studios Hollywood design park, examine world-class museums, or dance the night time away in a starlet-filled club…..this are just someof the things you will see in Los Angeles, discover that city with hotelbye . Los Angeles is the California's liveliest city; could be the amusement capital of America, with megastar electricity and nonstop activities. Hollywood may be the most-see attractions in Los Angeles. This place attracts an incredible number of visitors annually who journey there to pay honor to their beloved stars and possibly even catch a view of several famous personalities. And often they're lucky!

I have made this trip many times and the two routes given already are good ones. I have made better time on the I80 route though I vary it a bit. From LA I take the 10 to I15 in through Vegas north on I15 to I70 in Utah, go east to Denver stay on I70 (you have to follow I25 a bit) in to Nebraska and pick up I80 then take I80 to Illinois and pick up I88. I88 will dead end in to I290 east in to Chicago.

course 66, as such, would not somewhat exist anymore. Take I-fifty 5/40 4/40/15/10. this might take you thru Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
