My wife and I are in the process of moving to the North Shore are of Boston for work. We are looking for a cool, fun, and reasonable area to live.

We'd love to live in the Back Bay or North End area, but I don't know if we can afford it. I'll be working in the Peabody/Danvers area.

I've heard Salem mentioned but when visiting I didn't get the feeling that it was a fun town (ie. good restuarants, bars, culture, people out and about). Maybe I was in the wrong area? It seemed to be missing something.

BTW, We're in our mid-late 20's.

I have NEVER used public transportation on a regular basis and am contemplating moving to Boston for a job, but I would have to take the T every day. What are the pros and cons? How easy is it? Do you drive to the T station - I just don't really know how all of this works

Hi everyone! I made up my mind to pierce my tongue!!! The problem is I moved to MA only a few months ago and quite unfamiliar with the area. I am now single and I'm loving it! But, I need the sex. I recently moved to Boston from Central London and am a working girl. Would be grateful if anyone could tell me where single people go when they want to have sex (I know in England we have this professional club where people can go to fulfill their needs, but I've never been).

good day! i have a question for you guys that have lived there a while. i'm a southern girl and i grew up in a very small town. i joined the military and married someone from boston. the only time that i lived in a big city was when i was military. i lived on base though, so i always felt safe. now my husband and i are getting a divorce. he will be moving back to ma soon. i decided to follow because of our 2 kiddos. i dont know anyone from there except his family (ugghh). i will be a certified real estate agent soon and would like to live close to boston (for work). i'm terrified to live in the actual city (crime, traffic, etc..). can anyone tell me small towns outside of boston/quincy, etc.. with short commuting distance, small population, and low crime? any advice is appreciated. thanks and stay warm!

We're all familiar with The Top of the Hub and Spinnakers, and I know about this list:

But do you all have any recommendations for catching a good (cheap, quiet and private) view of Boston with a date? It doesn't have to be a restaurant -- in fact, I'd prefer something similar to the view from the docks on the Esplanade, or the Washington Tower in Mt. Auburn Cemetery:

Planning a trip to Boston in March. Any tips on stuff to do would be great. I'm not a big museum person. Weird spots, cool bars, local color, etc. Touristy stuff is cool too, but only if it's really good (Cheers need not apply).
