I'm an african american college student and I have familiy coming to Boston from out of town. I was looking at hotels in North Boston and generally outside of the city. I've heard that it was either North or South Boston that was very prejudiced-I can't remeber. Do any native Bostonians (preferably of color) have any recommendations for where I should NOT book a hotel-either due to an unsafe environment or prejudiced environment? Thanks!

I am looking for some information on what to expect from the Shawmut Inn. We are staying there in June and are just looking for a decent, nice place to spend the night. Any info you can provide about what to expect would be appreciated!

I had to ask this as I'm planning my trip as I read it's mighty nice there and I plan to live there for at least 3 months because I want to see everything in Boston, but everyone here in the UK keeps telling me there is a lot of aggro in Boston and most of the people there have attitude problems and aren't friendly at all. But of course there are one or two peeps who have told me that they're telling me a load of bullocks. But I just don't know who to believe. I'm so confused and as I'm quite a sensitive person, I totally hate confrontations and fights. Knowing me, If I find all this is true...I might even just abandon the thought of even going there.

I.E. Attleboro and South Attleboro are nearby MBTA stations in the same zone and line on the Commuter Rail system.

Would it cost anything traveling between those stations?
