I'm looking for a good place to get a haircut in Boston, preferably near Boston University. I don't want to pay like a gazillion dollars, but I want to go somewhere that will do a good job. Any reccomendations?

Salon Marc Harris on Newbury Street.
I paid $45 for an awesome cut. They have back massaging chairs too, that you sit in when you have your hair washed...very nice.

Go to guiliano day spa on Newbury street. It's not too bad, price wise, and they give great hair cuts and styles. The atmosphere is really relaxing also, it's worth it! They have gift cards, so maybe if you have a birthday coming up or something (or a partner who hasn't bought anything for valentines day!) you can ask for a gift card there so it's not expensive for you. Check on craigslist also under "part time jobs" or "free stuff". A lot of salon schools advertise there when they need models for their classes.

I go to Mario Russo on Newbury St. Their cuts range from $55 and up. A lot of local celebrities have their hair done there. Monica does my hair and she charges $60 and worth every penny.

There is a Dellaria salon right on Commonwealth Ave on the BU Campus. They have some great people there, and it's pretty cheap/reasonable depending who you see. About $30-$60 for a cut.

Salon Euphoria. it's a small place off Tremont St near Park St and Downtown crossing on the T. Andrea is the owner and she is fabulous. i am usually such a wimp, but now i literally tell her to do what she wants with me, and I always love it. and she always says that her haircuts should not have to be cut again for 2 months - always true! thewy grow in great :) cost is between 40-50 with Andrea. but worth it to not go as often and always get a fun cut. i've seen her do super short cuts, funky mid-length, boy's hair, curly and straight - all really well. all my friends now go to her :) good luck!

I like "The Cuttery" on Charles st.

I always stop in to see "Rick" whenever I am in the Boston area.
