Well it was tea time! Lol, no merchants of Boston were fed up with enormous amount of money they were being taxed by England. And in a rebellious move they dumped Englands shipment into the Boston Harbor. It was a milestone in one of the first actions taken against England that sparked the revolutionary war.

The newly formed colonists were being taxed by the English. As a rebellion they dumped shipments of tea into the Boston Harbor, to prove the point that they were not going to take being told what to do from the English. It was one of the first movements of the Revolutionary War.
