I'm planning a wedding for the Boston area in the autumn. If I pick October 6th, will Fall be in full swing yet?

Are you talking Boston proper, or the greater Boston area? In Boston proper, October 6th is still a little early - some trees will have started to change over, but most will still be green.

I'd wait another two weeks or so:

I got married in Sudbury (Metrowest) on October 12, and it wasn't yet peak there, and Boston is always a little later than the Metrowest area. Mind you, the exact date of peak foliage changes from year to year, due to differences in weather.

Early October will probably be just about peak for the leaves to be changing and falling off the trees. This sometimes varies depending on precipitation and temperature (give or take a week either way):)

Depends on the weather really, but early October is a good bet. Boston's weather is tricky.

For MA, i'd say perchance late October, yet as somebody else mentioned in case you examine the Boston information websites, they might have updates for you. in case you bypass to NH, possibly nearer to September. It starts in maine and works its way down :)
