Some friends and I are taking a weekend trip, and I don't want to drive in NY. I don't know how to find a train or bus to get us there, and I don't know how to get bus passes for the day once we're in the city.

Take the Peter Pan or Fung Wah bus to NYC or take the Amtrak train.
Once there go to any train station and buy an all-day bus pass.
That was easy, huh?

Take the train into Penn Station in NYC. Or take the bus to the Port Authority. You can take the subway from either of those places to anywhere in the city.

As for finding a bus or train to get you to New York, just Google. It's not rocket science.

Well Amtrak from Boston to NYC is pretty easy and cheap. Once you're there you can just buy a train pass for the day at the same station.

You can take a Greyhound to get there. I wouldn't recommend the Fung Wah.

go to mapquest.com, and fill in the info, and it will show you how long it takes to get there, as well as a map and directions, it works really good, I use it when I go to Albany or Syracuse sometimes.
