I'm asking about the type of neighbourhood/town/village where the residents have had enough money over several generations that they are secure in their wealth, and not overly flaunting it like a lottery winner or a footballer's wife. The type of place where education and breeding are far more important than possessing flashy cars, loud clothing and ostentatious homes.

It is so 1990s still here in provincial Liverpool. The people can be so out of step with the latest fashions in London, Paris and New York. For instance, it seems every adult male in Liverpool is a carbon copy of the other with this obsession for crew-cuts and shaving their heads bald. They all look like they're still stuck in 1992! I ask my guy friends here, why don't you grow your hair long like most men are doing elsewhere in the civilised world, and they look at me as though I have three heads. There seems to be no respect for individuality; everyone wants to be a conforming clone of the other.

Is there anyone who had travelled to Australia and living in Liverpool, UK?

I live in Sydney myself and I would like to go overseas next year for a life change. I looked at the Liverpool website and it looks really nice. But just wonder if living in Liverpool is as nice as it looks!?

I heard things about Liverpool is a dump and their accent is so hard to understand. Is that true? Or are there other things good about the city?

Any genuine comments and suggestions are welcome. No absusive, hatred or rascist language please !!

Are the northern neighbourhoods and suburbs of Merseyside predominantly Everton country? Converesely, would one find more support for Liverpool FC in South Liverpool and the southern suburbs?

Before anyone says it, yes, I'm aware there are supporters of both clubs in all sections of Merseyside, but notice I said words like LARGELY and PREDOMINANTLY, not all or 100%.

Plus, as much as we tend to try and downplay these things nowadays, you can't argue there were often sectarian connectations to supporting a football club in years past, particularly in cities with large Irish connections. (i.e. Liverpool, Glasgow, and Manchester). It's no secret that not too long ago Catholics (largely of Irish ancestry) tended to favour Everton, while Protestants backed Liverpool FC. Historians tell us the once large Irish Catholic centres around Scotland Road largely moved northward to places like Bootle and Walton after the war. So is it fair to say North Liverpool is Blue and S. L'pool Red?
