All my family are from liverpool and im from manchester, It's a great place and the people are very friendly and stick together through thick and thin, you see things in liverpool you don't see in any other city ie people making the sign of the cross when a hearse passes them in the street, they are very respectful people. As a mancunian im hardwired to dislike them but if you actually spend any time there its impossible to do so. Liverpool is much safer than many cities of similar size (ie manchester) and probably no more dangerous than sydney. There accent isnt hard to understand but im used to it i guess, try understanding someone from devon! The city centre is great with lots of, bars, clubs, shops etc. Don't be put off by the housing, liverpool is quite run-down in places but that doesnt mean its a dangerous place, for example there are places in manchester that are not as run down but are much more dangerous, if you know what i mean. Enjoy!

Lverpool has a not entirely undeserved bad reputation when you hear of the shooting of a young lad. I will however say this that most people who have come to Liverpool and stayed for any lengh of time have fond memories. You will find most people are tolerant and helpful. Not all of us put an H in H miss of G add add an H when there is none and shorten words,. Although many of us speak very rapidly which courses some confusion until your ear is attuned.
If we are going to slag cities off I avoid London Manchester Birmingham and a few others are in fact far worse to live in than Liverpool. The ace in unfriendlty and unhelful cities is Bristol and that is through bitter experience

I live in Liverpool, and i say come along!
There's lots to do, and yes there can be a problem with gangs and drugs etc, but take the same amount of care that you would in any other big city. There's a chap in Liverpool that is visiting every Liverpool in the world, and not too long ago he was in Australia.

Well I don't live in the UK, but I don't think liverpool is a dump. I think there might be a bad neighborhood in Liverpool just like there are in every city all around the world. So I think you should be fine and just study up on the different areas and what the costs are and I think you will be fine and love it there.

People get shot in Manchester too, but its still a nice place. omg people from birmingham are a bit hard to understand as well as liverpool!
