Hey, the actual goings on along the front/docks are cancelled as the building works are posed to be a danger to the public but on matthew street bands will still be playing in pubs and alcohol is allowed. The main stage is off though as far as im aware.

Alcohol is to be banned from drinking in the street during this year’s music event. It means anyone found with alcohol will have it confiscated.
You will still be able to enjoy a drink inside bars and pubs
A total of 75 venues so far have signed up to take part in the 2007 festival – a record since Mathew Street was first held in 1993. So yes it is still going ahead

Drinking on the streets is banned, although i dont know how they will enforce it. The public houses will be serving as usual and there will be many bands playing in many pubs in the area. See you in The Crocodile Chopper its a great boozer!!

There is a ban on public drinking on this year's festival. But how they are going to enforce it with so many people i have no idea.
Just plonk yourself in a boozer and get wasted. The crocodile in harrington street is a good laugh. it's my local.

It certainly looks as if there is a ban on street drinking. Have a look at this webpage and hopefully that will help clarify things for you - click the link below and then go to Regional News

You can call 0151 233 2008 to find out. There's nothing on the web site about it at visitliverpool.com/site/mathew-street-music-festival-2007-p16228.
