Hi, i am visiting Edinburgh on the new year's eve and new years day. i check on the internet, there are six major events on new year's eve(
http://www.edinburghshogmanay.org/whatson/ ). most of them need ticket, which one is the best? i want to enjoy a massive countdown and the fireworks, not a big fan of drinking.

one more question, we are staying in stirling on 31st (late booking, plan was to stay in edinburgh), shall we drive to edinburgh, or take a train? what time is the last train service?

Thank you.

My man and I are going to Edinburgh for 3 nights from the 23rd December. We are definitely planning on visiting the castle, and the Christmas markets. Can anyone suggest any cool things to do or see, doesn't have to be the usual touristy things just anything that's been fun, unique or interesting. Please don't suggest the ghost walks as that will freak me out - i'm scared! Oh and any really nice restaurants or bars. We're always up for an adventure so share any fun and exciting experiences you have had in Edinburgh!!

As my Brother in law has scottish ancestry he would like to wear his family tartan and full dress whilst in Edinburgh and therefore wants a traditional night out. Unfortunately he can only be there on the 27th 28th Dec. We have accommodation but cannot find anything on tourist info that hits what we want. Can you help?

If you had three days to spend in Scotland near Edinburgh and Glasgow, what are the things you would see? What about cultural nightlife?

A group of classmates and I are trying to tour Scotland. We would like to make Edinburgh University our "home base". We were told it was possible to rent flats and/or dormitory rooms when class is not in session. Does anyone have any information on this?

Dear people of Scotland, I visited your beautiful capital Edinburgh, and what should I say? I fell in love with Edinburgh, Scotland and the Scottish people. That wasn´t my last trip to beautiful Scotland! I´ll come back, I promise! I bought a patch with the following slogan: Up yer Kilt! (just because I like it!) but I don´t know exactly the meaning of this slogan. Can you please explain it to me in "pure English".

Thanks a lot!

I'm from San Diego and I want to rent a car and tour Scotland this Jan. but have heard that Great Britain is littered with speed camera traps. I'm afraid I'll miss a speed limit sign and will pile up speeding tickets.

Hi! I am moving to Edinburgh in a few months and I need to rent a flat. So I need to know the best areas to live in, close to supermarkets, good transport links, low crime rate, away from pubs and confusion, etc. And I would like to know as well, what are the areas I should avoid. Thank you for your help.
