I'm from San Diego and I want to rent a car and tour Scotland this Jan. but have heard that Great Britain is littered with speed camera traps. I'm afraid I'll miss a speed limit sign and will pile up speeding tickets.

Trust me you have nothing to worry about. They are highly visible and there are warnings that the cameras are coming up with plenty of time to slow down before you get to them. I am from Canada and my bf lives in the Uk. I get a laugh out of it because even radar cops have to put up a sign stating that there are speed cameras approaching. I still cant believe how people get caught over there. They might as well just put up a big neon sign saying slowdown you retard

i live in europe now and yes there are lots of speed cameras, best bet is to stay within the speed limit and you will be fine. remember that in scotland the driving is on the opposite side of the road (compared to the states) so you will automatically go slower as its tricky at first.

Scotland is lovely but not in January, the weather is atrocious and you will not see anything.

Blair uses motorists to raise taxes, speed cameras are everywhere so be careful.....try Scotland in May and June, it is fantastic then

if you can not drive and watch your speed at the same time then you deserve the tickets
