As my Brother in law has scottish ancestry he would like to wear his family tartan and full dress whilst in Edinburgh and therefore wants a traditional night out. Unfortunately he can only be there on the 27th 28th Dec. We have accommodation but cannot find anything on tourist info that hits what we want. Can you help?

Try contacting the Assembly Rooms on George Street. I don't know if they have anything on that night, but they often have festive party nights that would suit.

A very good Scottish restaurant is Jacksons on the Royal Mile. It won't help with the dancing part, but might be a good place to start your evening,
