Any very cheap fun things to do in London (and North West (Colindale Tube)? I'm going there in late September for 2 weeks to visit the ol' ball and chain. We have almost zero dollars to play with - so looking for fun theatre stuff, improv theatre, fun cheap bars, and anything else you might want to suggest! Thanks!

I visualised London in a great way...being clean everywhere, posh streets and so on..but i often see rubbish simply thrown on roads and pavements and a lot of scratches on windows of tube trains and london buses.why is that? shock!!!

Until the disgraceful 1974 County Boundries Act, which took away a lot of our identity, the above was the correct title for Newcastle. Can someone name me the other British cities that had similar titles? I know that Hull was one, but I don't know it's correct title. Liverpool, big city though it is, had no such title. I believe there were 12 cities altogether with a City and County title.

I've just read about the Peterloo massacre in a book about King George the Fourth, which happened during his lifetime. Is the field (St. Peter's field) which it happened still there? Is there some sort of plaque or sculpture in Manchester commemorating the event?
