Woah, how weird is that, I was just writing Ecclefechan and then I read your Sub line.
Me and my GF drove to Scotland a couple of months back and it made me chuckle for hours after we passed it. My GF just didn't get what was so funny.

For Humour I'd have to say Piddle Trenthide, Dorset England. A close second is Pratts Bottom in Kent, England!
When it comes to beautiful names I'd have to say Silent Valley, in the Mourne Mountains, County Down, Northern Ireland.

Ubley - keeps getting change changed to 'Lovely Jubbly' (a phrase used by Del Boy in Only Fools And Horses) on some local road signs - a village south of Bristol.

Lyme Regis- I have good memories of drinking a Guiness there when I was a student.
Bath, England because I love Tears for Fears and the beautiful Georgian Architecture of the city.

Pratts Bottom in Kent. It's a real place!
Happy valley is quite a crappy place in Canada, that makes me chuckle at the irony of it!
