does anyone know where a person can go and live the really simple life without the rat race we live in in the U.S.A. and not have the high cost of living we have in most parts of the world today?? I want a simple life. I don't need cell phones suv's and all the other hi tech gadgets. I'd like a place like the US right after WWII

I will be visiting Mexico (Guanajuato) and staying with the family of a friend. They plan to take me dancing, so I need to know what to expect. I will not be going to nightclubs catering to tourists but, rather, to clubs frequented by locals.

I have my resident card and want to visit family in Mexico for a couple of months. Do i need a passport to come back? If so, where should it be from, Mexico or the US? and if i need it from the US do i need to get my passport from the same state that I got my residency from? I would be flying to come back to the US.

Posting this as a question but it's to let you all know that i am in Cancun, I live here. The hurricane will hit land 200 miles from Cancun. News reports outside of Cancun are incorrectly reporting that it will hit us. We will see tropical storm winds and some rain. Once the airport reopens when the storm passes, all will be back to normal and people booked for next week will have no problem At worst, there will be a few branches blown around and this will be cleared up within a day.
I have lived here 6 1/2 yeas and have witnessed about 4 hurricanes or near misses so I do know what I'm talking about.

We just had to cancel our plans for Cancun because of Hurricane Dean. I only have two more days to reschedule with Delta. All the flights they have are overnight ones to Cancun. Is there another place in Mexico that we would enjoy equally? I like to shop he likes the water and the activites. Thanks

I spent my entire weekend getting the run around from each of these companies. Each person I spoke with gave me a different option. And one even said that the other didn't know what they were talking about. So after being on hold for most of the weekend, and being told by expedia I could not cancel until 2 hours BEFORE the plane was to take off I was a bit upset. Because the Hurricane was all over the news. I finally called Delta back and asked for a Supervisor. They put me on hold for OVER AN HOUR! They still flew as of yesterday (Aug 19th). Did anyone else experience this? Is it common for an airline to still fly people during these kinds of conditions. Because they refused to cancel the flight, I now have a voucher with this airline. But I am so angry that I have no desire to travel with them, especially after being put on hold for over an hour to speak to a supervisor.

I am scheduled to leave for Cancun on Friday. If Cancun does get wacked what shape will the resorts/beaches and tourist stands be in? Will the all inclusive resort still have 5 different resterants open, will the airport be open, or will this city just be one hell hole? I am hoping for the best.
