You don't need any identification going to mexico, but coming back you'll need at least your drivers license. Bring some mexican money.

With intense, "secure the border" pressure on Congress, and the fact that the DEMS and REPS may want to win the next election, both parties may SUDDENLY demonstrate how serious they are about our border just to stop people like me from nagging them constantly.
The U.S. should be absolutely 100% certain who is crossing our borders. They cannot do that without ID. Get a passport! Border crackdowns are coming very soon.

If it's like the CA and AZ border cities you don't need any id to get in. Coming back home on the other hand will be problematic without ID.

I just crossed the border the other day at Progresso and the person in front of me had no ID. They asked him for his social security number and one other questoin and he entered without any problems. Good luck.
