Posting this as a question but it's to let you all know that i am in Cancun, I live here. The hurricane will hit land 200 miles from Cancun. News reports outside of Cancun are incorrectly reporting that it will hit us. We will see tropical storm winds and some rain. Once the airport reopens when the storm passes, all will be back to normal and people booked for next week will have no problem At worst, there will be a few branches blown around and this will be cleared up within a day.
I have lived here 6 1/2 yeas and have witnessed about 4 hurricanes or near misses so I do know what I'm talking about.

The National Hurricane center is showing about 50 to 70% chance Cancun will be hit with some kind of hurricane force winds (of course that could be a level 1 hurricane).

Looks like Tulum will get some almost certainly, and the Sian Kahn reserve might get hit.

You guys clean up quickly most of the time, and I am praying that it does not do too much damage.

hhhmmmm....even though it will n Iot be a direct hit...wouldnt there be beach corrosion from all the heavy wind? I was supposed to go tomorrow but I decided to cancel my trip. I'm bummed about it, but now i'm thinking that maybe I should have waited until today before I cancelled. Oh well, thanks for you info.
