I'm going to an all inclusive resort in Mexico and have never been to the country. I don't need to take alot of money but I want some money on hand for small purchases and a tour to Chichen Itza. I do not want to use my credit card because of fees charged by my bank for international purchases. Should I take cash and convert to mexican currency when I arrive or should I take travelers checks? I have about $500 to take, what should I do?

Hi, there is a new regulation by the US Department of Travel which allows US citizens to travel to Mexico and bordering coutries without a passport through September 30th 2007. This is due to a back up of Passport applications ... I will be traveling to Mexico on September 30th and will actually be in Mexico without a US passport (until its mailed to me back home in 4-6 weeks, I will then have my mother mail it to me in Mexico). I have 2 questions ... 1) will travel be easy in Mexico without a Passport? Will hotels or places that serve alcohol ask to see my passport? and 2) suppose my mother throws away my mail with the passport in it ... I know I cant enter the US without the US passport, but would I be able to travel the world still? Like to Australia and Europe? Do I need to get a Mexican Passport? Or in Mexico, do you not need a Passport to travel Internationally? Thanks for the intelligent answers, Im not looking for "well then youre screwed" comments.

This place has no electricity, is right on the coast, was the site of filming a 007 movie and is supposed to be very romantic. Was told reservations can only be made through the church.

I was trying to look for Adame Buslines but i could not find a website for them to check out the schedules, I found this website of all the buslines that rate the companies, but alot of them don't have a rating which kinda scares me cuz i am going to a foreign land.

I will be visiting Mexico (Guanajuato) and staying with the family of a friend. They plan to take me dancing, so I need to know what to expect. I will not be going to nightclubs catering to tourists but, rather, to clubs frequented by locals.

I have my resident card and want to visit family in Mexico for a couple of months. Do i need a passport to come back? If so, where should it be from, Mexico or the US? and if i need it from the US do i need to get my passport from the same state that I got my residency from? I would be flying to come back to the US.

We just had to cancel our plans for Cancun because of Hurricane Dean. I only have two more days to reschedule with Delta. All the flights they have are overnight ones to Cancun. Is there another place in Mexico that we would enjoy equally? I like to shop he likes the water and the activites. Thanks
