Well,I am an American, I am a gramma, and I am at this very moment in Mexico. iI is just south of Texas and is part of the North American continent. Show your gramma this map. And, be respectful and courteous when you do it.

The fact is that Mexico is part of North America which is the northern continent of the Western Hemisphere. North America extends northward from the Colombia-Panama border and includes Central America, Mexico, the islands of the Caribbean Sea, the United States, Canada, the Arctic Archipelago, and Greenland. Look at a map of North America. You will find Mexico there immediately south of the United states of America.

I think it used to be, but that was a long time ago. If I remember what I was taught in High School right, the world was one big land mass, and the continents drifted apart. Mexico used to connect to either Spain or Africa, I don't really recall anymore.
So, if your grandmother remembers that time, just how old IS she?
