I dont know about car work, but tons of people are going to Mexico for dental work these days, whole vacation packages are put together for this- "Dental Vacations". As in any case, do your research- there will be both good and bad dentists, just like here. Also- Ive heard the further down away from the boarder you go, the cheaper its going to be. Look for an area that has a large number of retired Americans and Canadians- and youll find some good health care systems in place. Im saving to go to Lake Chapala this winter.

I live in a border town and several of my neighbors and I have dental work in Nuevo Progreso. All of us are extremely happy with the service we received. A crown costs $150. If you need the name of a dentist, email me.

my friends have (both things actually)
dental work...nicely done and inexpensive...but i have an uncle who got very bad work done. he also went to the cheapest place.

i just had my transmission fixed in Tj and i am very happy. the guy was a German who knows his stuff...and to my suprise was honest and inexpensive.

i have also seen bad work done here in the USA so its always a crap shoot no matter where you go.
