I am planing a holiday in Sardinia in July 2007. I have read lots of websites and reviews about Sardinia but I would be really grateful if somebody could tell me the answer to one important question:

How do I get around from one marvelous beach/place to another in Sardinia? I don't have adriving licence so I won't be able to rent a car. Are the any other options, and how viable are they?

Thank you in advance.

I've been in Rome for around 1 week. I have been asked to go out but don't really have the money. Back in the states I wasn't on that big of a budget, so whenever I would go out on a date I would always offer to help pay. Will he think I'm awful for not offering?

Sorry, silly question but it is something I was wondering about. Thanks.

We are a couple with a 6 year old boy. We would like to spend a week based out of somewhere nice in the mountains in North or NE - renting a house/chalet or staying in a 3-4 star hotel. We like hiking, "adventure" things suitable for a 6 year old, won't mind if there are other kids around, cultural attractions, eco-things, etc...

We would like to be able to travel for a day trip to Austria or Switzerland too, from where we are, so some decent highway access is important.

Language is not a problem as we are fluent in Italian.

I'm travelling to Rome in September- October and we are looking for an apartment that is clean , conveniant and cheap. We won't have a car so it has to be central looking to pay about 7-800 euro for the week.

Okay, lets see. My rent is 600 euro monthly (including all bills), the apartment is very close to the city center (about 15 minutes walking distance from the Spanish Steps), I'll be taking the bus if I must go long distances otherwise if I can walk it I'll be walking, I'm not high maintenance (meaning there won't be 20 beauty products I'll have to replenish every month)....hmm, I guess the only things I'll be buying much is food, personal products, and cleaning supplies (like laundry detergent).

Based on this information, how long do you think only $8,000 will last me in Rome?

Thanks!
