Don't listen to maroc, he's trying to make fun of you. "cavalli di san francesco" is an italian expression that means "on foot"!
The cheapest way to reach Rome from Fiano is by train. The train station closest to Fiano is "Fara Sabina" (about 4 miles) and hotels usually offer free shuttle service.
From Fara Sabina there are trains each 15 minutes directed to the center of Rome (Trastevere, Ostiense). Once you are there take the metro, it takes you almost everywhere...
One way trip shouldn't cost you more than 4 or 5 Euros.
