Yup, I was born and raised in Italy....i've been in the states since 1992. Puglia (apulia) is the region I am from, precisely the city of Bari. Puglia is a region in southern italy that nobody knows and it is unexplored to the rest of the world. Look it up on google, images...its beautiful. This is for the author: Hai ragione, conoscono solamente queste quattro o cinque citta'...come se il resto d'Italia fosse tutto deserto, lol. Ciao.

I spent a semester in Italy back in 2002 and got to spend a lot of time in northern Italy. It used to be a part of Austria until World War II, so there are a lot of Germanic influences on the area (all the signs are in both Italian and German, for example). It's an absolutely gorgeous place where a lot of German tourists visit but not many from the States (at least that's the way it was back then). If you have time, take a trip up to Meran/Merano, Dorf Tirol/Tirolo, or that area - it's absolutely gorgeous and will give you a very different view of Italy.

I went to Italy in 2005 on a school trip. We went to Venice, Montecatini Terme, Montecatini Alto, Florence, Orvieto, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, and Rome. I can't decide which one was the most beautiful because they were all breathtaking!
