My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in Tuscany in mid-late September. Flying in/out of Rome. Would like to stop in Florence, Siena, Montepulciano (at the very least). Can you tell me:
1. Other towns we should see?
2. Towns best for day trips vs those we should stay the night?

Oh - we're big wine folks, too. Please - only answer based on personal experience.
Thanks for your help!

Please help. Looking for either a low Italian cost carrier to fly
or for a rail route. I can't seem to find a direct rail route, or a low-cost air route. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Are the people looking for anything in Pompeii?

My fiance and I are going to be spending 10 nights in Rome. We want to see Pompeii as well. We know that it's possible to go down for a day, but we were thinking about possibly setting aside 3 days to explore Pompeii. The only question is, where do we stay? Should we get a hotel in Naples? And how far is Pompeii from the airport in Rome? I'm just not sure how to go about booking a hotel in Rome for 6 days, Pompeii for 3 and then another 2 back in Rome, lol.

What would be the easiest way to explore both cities?

We are going to Naples in a couple of weeks time. Our city centre hotel has offered to collect us from the airport at a cost of 40 euros. Is this a reasonable price or are we being ripped off?

I am planning to visit Italy as a tourist.
My plan includes staying in Rome. Then travelling to Pisa and then finally travel to Venice from Pisa.
As you can understand this would involve a lot of travel within the cities (by either bus or Metro) and also intercity travels, preferrably by Trains.
Can you please suggest if there is any all inclusive travel pass that i can use for this purpose.
I am aware of a Euro rail pass, but that is not the kind of thing i am looking for.
I need one combined pass that would enable me to trabvel both within city as well as intercity.
I have travelled in Switzerland and have used a pass like this. It is normally valid for 4 days and enables you to travel all kinds of transport. There is also a discount in special transport tickets in site seeing location.
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

How much subsidies do they cream off from the higher developed European Community nations such as:
U.K./Eire/Germany/France and the Benelux nations?
Wish people living south of the olive line would contribute more instead of taking all the time.
Wish their football teams would stop cheating and buying referees.

We are planning to go to Italy in April. We have only four days in hand. Can anybody pls suggest some travel plan.We will start from Rome.Is it possible to cover venice, milan and Pisa if we first go down to Capri and then start to travel upward? How is the public transport in Italy? Somebody told us that it is problematic especially in cities if we hire a car.Streets are narrow and there are parking problems. Is it convenient (and suitable for us to cover the country in only 4 days) to travel by public transport with a child?Another thing, can u pls suggest a reliable, informative(train information etc.) tourism site other than italia.it.
Thanks in advance.
