HELP! Easiest way to get from Florence to Tropea??

Question

Please help. Looking for either a low Italian cost carrier to fly
or for a rail route. I can't seem to find a direct rail route, or a low-cost air route. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

I've checked flights but I guess you better give up.
It would be a marathon; it's a difficult connection and when you arrive to the closest airport (Lamezia Terme) you'll need to take a train to Tropea (abt. 60 kms far)-
My suggestion is to book the InterCityNight leaving Florence around midnight (23:31) and arriving to Tropea around noon.
You need to change train just once (9:00 am at Lamezia) but you can spend the night in the train and save the hotel room cost.

The ticket cost is € 74,10 for 1st class and € 52,60 in 2nd class. Reservation is mandatory for the Intercity from Florence till Lamezia.

Be careful since the train leaves from Firenze Campo di Marte station (and not the Central Station Firenza Santa Maria Novella) !!
From Lamezia to Tropea no reservation needed and no 1st class available.
