I'm going next year to a friend's wedding and would like to see some of the country as well. It's near Stockholm, so would like a bit of time in the city and countryside as well.

Family friendly suggestions only, please!

And if they are all the same country, what is the language that is spoken there? And if they are all different countries, what is/are the language(s) spoken in each one? I have heard that they are all the same country and German is spoken there and I have also heard that they are 3 separate countries and who I've heard that from doesn't know the language spoken in all 3. So, I'm very confused about all of it. Thanks.

I am flying to Munich and I would like to see Prague, preferably by car. It seems that this idea might be a problem because some car rental companies (AutoEurope being one) forbid driving into Eastern Europe. I think this is due to the high theft rate in these cities (especially Prague, from what I've read online). I have a couple of questions:
1 Are there any reliable (and preferably affordable) car rental companies that allow driving to the Czech Republic?
2 If a car is not feasible, what's a good alternative? Bus or train? What are some names of some bus or train companies and are they affordable? Also is the duration long?

I realize I'm being a pain and asking a lot but any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!

I'm planning one or two trips to Europe this summer. Going to Greece for 2-3 weeks on a volunteer vacation/camp (lodging/cooking supplies may be available). Also pondering a 5-6-day trip to Ireland (hostels/independent travel). I also hope to use the pack for various O/N hikes in the future.

I am trying to purchase a round-trip ticket for my Europe backpacking trip in April 2007:

- San Francisco (SFO) to Paris, France (CDG) on 4/9/07 (Mon)
- Rome, Italy (FCO) to San Francisco (SFO) on 4/22/07 (Sun)

I did several searches and it costs about US$1200. It is a lot more expensive than I expected, probably because of the following reasons:

- Need non-stop flight for SFO->CDG
- Need to arrive/depart at different airports in Europe (CDG, FCO)

I found out that it's only April 2007 that is that expensive. I did searches with the same settings for Jan/Feb/Mar 2007 and it costs a lot less (US$800) ... why is that? (I don't think April is considered holiday season yet) and what can I do to get a cheaper ticket (with the above requirements)? Thanks.
