Corruption? Yes. Like in almost all european countries. Maybe more. Respecting the human rights? Of course. The hungarian minority (around 7% of romanians citizens) is very well. UDMR (a sort of political party) is a ruling party since 1996. So, don't worry!
There are schools in hungarian language, high schools in hungarian language, administration in hungarian language (in districts where hungarian are more than 20%), streets are translated in hungarian language (same conditions as above), news papers, radio stations, tv stations in hungarian language , romanian national television and radio has a weekly broadcast in hungarian and so on.
What do you think about the human rights and hungarian minority in Romania, right now ?

I lived in Romania for 8 years. Now there is not so much corruption. Human rights are more respected. Hungarian minority has a part of Parliament. Everything is more democratic. Salaries are increased and the prices are tripled during pre-adderation period.
Now Romania has to join Euro-zone and Schengen agreement. They also will participate at the intracommunity free workers' migration and customs union.
Many Germans and English people buy houses in Mountain and at the sea side.
Welcome to Romania!

Corruption,yes...Every politician first thinks about what can he do for him and how exactly can he get more money. The people are not so important for them.We have problems with the Justice, the medical sector, but fortunately they could be solved...
Yes,Romania is respecting the human rights, many things have change since the communism is no longer in power...back them we didn't even know what human rights are.Now everything it's OK...

What do YOU know about it? Don't cry about the hungarian minority, first ask the ordinary people and you'll find more that in the newspapers or others sources more or less correct.

i know what you meen, but i gues that's not important in eu as it should be. Greece and Bulgaria have the same problems with recognizing minorities, but it's all about politics and money...
