Both are worth visiting. In Serbia, try to go outside Belgrade, maybe to Novi Sad (a beautiful Danube port), Subotica which has a beautiful Central European flavour. Then my secret tip would be Sabac which has such a romantic feel to it.
Bosnia has a beautiful, savage, mountaineous kind of beauty. It is not only the westernmost limit of Islamic civilisation, but also a mix of very different traditions.Much of it has been rebuilt after the war. My secret tip here is Neum(on the Adriatic)

If language means anything, Bosnia has more German speakers;Serbska, more Russian.

Visit Sanski Most in NW Bosnia if you get the chance. I rebuilt the firehall roof there in 2003 as part of SFOR...
It's all beautiful. And the mines are well marked!

a million. Sarajevo isn't Sarajevo without the appropriate mountainous panorama welcoming you to this city (zar ne?). vehicle is the adventure. With a vehicle, you may take your time and note each little thing you want; the replace of landscapes and human beings. With a bus, you may consider the panorama. With a airplane, it would want to dodge time and skill. 2. between Sarajevo and Dubrovnik, Hercegovina is appropriate. there's a larger Roman stay in Gabela. 3. Tivat - Belgrade; truthfully take a airplane lower back to dodge the Moraca canyon. Many injuries ensue there. they're planning the kind of a sparkling street Eastward of the only now. 4. when you spot Dubrovnik and Makarska, the Montenegrin surroundings might want to include: Budva, Kotor, Sveti Stefan, with each of the beaches round... My suggestion: Belgrade - Dubrovnik by vehicle, Dubrovnik - Belgrade by Tivat. 5. once you arrive in Belgrade, verify in with the community authorities interior the subsequent 24h if you're staying in deepest lodging. i imagine you'll desire the owner of the position you're staying at to bypass with you, yet have your relatives verify for the information.

They are both very nice, and since they are very close you should visit both. And you should also visit Croatia and all the other countries in the Balkans. I am mixed croatian serbian and bosnian and all of them are very nice. Neum, like someone mentioned, is very very nice. My uncle lives there. Novi Sad, also mentioned, is in Serbia and is a beautiful city. Some of my family lives there aswell.
