I know there has been many attacks on holiday makers and many car bombs, bin bombs, roadside bombs in the last few years but is ok now to go to Turkey (according to UK and US official websites Turkey still not a safe place to visit) but I just wondered if you have recently have been to the country.

I'm going to be traveling in the south of France and into Spain in September and would like to have a mobile phone (I'm traveling from the United States). I would probably need the phone only for 8 days or so. It would need to work in both countries.

Any suggestions?

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/08/01/bridge.collapse/index.html
This story is so sad. I'm always afraid of bridges like these, because I imagine that it would collapse like this. I wonder why the city didn't reconstuct the bridge if it was in bad condition. I've heard articles state that it was because of the dramatic weather changes, that the cement started to crack. I just hope something like this wouldn't happen to me, or anybody else for that matter!

we are going to on a holiday to my home town in greece, which is at the sea. it is going to take us 12 hours, and me and my brother can't sit together for 30 minutes without having a fight or start screaming at each other. what could we do on the road to keep us entertained and stop fighting? we don't want to get really bored on the way too. our car is a volkswagen passat, so it isn't pretty big (2003 version of it).

what are things we could do together and/or as a family on the way to greece? i don't want to have a fight with him on the way, my mum tends to get verry stressed before and during the trip, so i don't want to get her mad and she'll feel very bad on the way.

I was hoping someone could tell me a list of the good hotels near the RomExpo Exhibition Centre in Bucharest? I would prefer to be in walking distance if possible. The only one I know about so far is the Crowne Plaza Hotel. I'm assuming that there are more.

I will probably be travelling from Warsaw to St. Petersburg, and travelling back to Warsaw from Moscow. Or the other way around. I am very confused with the Russian train system, and many websites are warning about the transit visa through Belarus, but don't provide much advice on how to go around Belarus easily!
Thank-you.
