Mustafa Kemal married only once with Latife Uşaklıgil on January 29, 1923. The marriage lasted only 2.5 years. The circumstances of their divorce remain a closely guarded secret in Turkey. A court order banned for 25 years the publishing of his former wife's diaries and letters. When the court order expired, Latife Usaklıgil's family had demanded that the letters remain a secret.

My question:
Mustafa Kemal was not just "anyone". All his life, he struggled to modernize, reform and "awaken" Turkey. Any information concerning his personal and public life likely concerns all Turks and even scholars outside Turkey. Do these diaries remain still a secret today? If so, should documents of historical importance be kept as a secret?

Your opinion on this?

thanks!

Dependable sites like IMDB, Wikipedia, MuggleNet etc say that it's coming to Turkey on 13th July. But I checked at Atakule and they say they're going to play it in August. I can't even check online because the information at sinema.com is all in Turkish (and I don't speak Turkish). So, please, does anyone know which cinema in Ankara is going to play Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? And when!!?

Basically I want to hear people's experiences, what cities they were in, what hostels they stayed at and the cost. I know the cost varies for specific matters (where you stay, how much you eat, how long you're there) but I was thinking of saving about 6,000 dollars. I was thinking of traveling for a month. Does that sound reasonable??

Okay I am going overseas. I need help with what are some good dishes. Additionally, if you could spell the words (with the English letters) for beef, chicken, fish, lamb and pork so I at least have some kind of idea what I am ordering that would be great.

I like the accents, shorter work week, more vacation time, streets are a bit cleaner, old buildings and history, people are more relaxed, women are friendlier and easier to make friends, fewer SUV's, good beer

I don't like the high taxes, high crime rate and criminals get off easy, immigrants racist to the natives of there host country, driving, lack of free speech, pollution, governments promoting white guilt, censorship
