I just got back from a Carnival cruise with my wife and 2-yr-old son. We had a great time and Carnival was very accomodating with activities until 10pm for kids over 2 and babysitting for kids under 11 after 10pm. We usually had our son with us during the day and brought him to the activity/babysitting center around 9pm.

We have another child on the way and I am wondering what peoples' experience has been on other cruise lines bringing children under 2? If we brought a child under 2 on Carnival, we could have only used the babysitting after 10pm, which is a little late to bring them since they would probably already be asleep. Do any other lines offer the babysitting service starting earlier than 10pm?

so we would preferebly be leaving from there and doing the Florida/Carribean thing.

Which cruise lines are good, should we get an inside cabin or an outside one with a balconly.....what about tips, etc.? Also I think we are planning on going in September, isn't that hurricane season? What about insurance for that?

Any details and advice you can give me would be very appreciated, thanks!

We are going on this cruise this fall and I have some questions that I can't find answers to on the cruiseline website. Is it cold along the inside passage during the fall? Should I pack both warm and cold weather clothing or just cold? Are there plenty of activities for kids or is it just mainly adults? How much do the offboard activities cost (hiking the glaciers? panning for gold? salmon bakes?)?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions for me!

I'm going on my first cruise to Bermuda in a few days, and am a little confused on what to wear. I will be on the boat for five days. I know that we are not supposed to wear jeans, and that on the second night is a "Black-Tie" dinner. I was also told to dress warmly because it gets really cold on the boat. Does anyone have any tips on what to bring or what to be prepared for?

the travel agent gave me a booklet and it just tells me what i need to know about the cruise before we sail, however they did not go into detail about formal wear. it says that formal attire is suggested at the captain's cocktail party and the captain's gala dinner. do you know if teenagers attend the cocktail party? and do you know if it is required to have a tie and dress pants, or can you just wear a a dress shirt and nice jeans. and what about shoes?

I'm taking a cruise on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas going to Barcelona, Nice, and three cities in Italy. Staying a few days afterward on our own in Barcelona. Has anyone else been on this cruise? Any pros/cons I should know about?

We were looking into taking a cruise for our honeymoon, what do you think? Are they fun? I've heard that on some cruise ships you can get bored easily so it's better to take a shorter cruise- is this true? How about the costs of food, drinks, extra things (spa)?

A few friends and I want to go for spring break next March. I just don't know where to start. Everything we have seen seems so pricey.

It's maiden voyage was last month (June 2006). I'm thinking of taking a cruise on the ship in August. Any thoughts, particularly versus Royal Caribbean, would be great.
