We are going on this cruise this fall and I have some questions that I can't find answers to on the cruiseline website. Is it cold along the inside passage during the fall? Should I pack both warm and cold weather clothing or just cold? Are there plenty of activities for kids or is it just mainly adults? How much do the offboard activities cost (hiking the glaciers? panning for gold? salmon bakes?)?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions for me!

We went on a cruise to Alaska a couple years ago. This information should help. When we went a few years ago in May it was shirt sleeve weather (70's) in Anchorage and Fairbanks. The odd thing was, it was cooler further south in Juneau and Skagway than it was up north. It was rainy and cloudy in Ketchikan. It will be cold, like coat, hat and gloves weather, when you get close to the Glaciers. Otherwise they would melt. When you pack, think layering of your clothes. A couple long sleeve shirts/tops, a sweater/sweatshirt, a light jacket, maybe with a hood. It will also be very cool, even cold, outside on deck or a balcony while you are cruising, mostly just from the breese/wind.

I did find the tours and prices on the NCL web site. You must click on the link which says "ALASKA SHORE EXCURSIONS ORDER FORMS" and then click on your cruise date. The prices are in a PDF file which downloads to your PC (You will need Adobe Reader on your PC ... its a free software).

Check this link for information on their programs for kids:

Norwegian Cruise line is like something some like it some do no longer. I even have sailed with them a number of situations and enjoyed each. Norwegian stopped doing cruise excursions a number of years in the past yet, do supply a land excursion to Denali become self sustaining from a cruise. Alaska has many nationwide Parks all superb and supply many countless issues mutually with vegetation and fauna. Denali might stand out because of the fact of Mt. McKinley. Alaska is an excellent place to flow to the two by capacity of cruise or land excursion. I even have been there 30 situations and am going back quickly. savour.
