I've been told that passports are required for all travel to the Caribbean, but the State Dept website still says that US citizens may travel without a passport to the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Is this still correct?

I am pregnant, and due on April 5, 2007. My husband and I are taking the family to the Bahamas in Summer 2008, and are going to Atlantis. The baby will be about 15 months when we go, do you think that is too young? If we decide it is, we'll leave her with my parents. But do you think it's too young, or she'll be okay? Please help! Thanks!

I've heard many people on tv say that English would be a major issue for Puerto Rican statehood since hardly anyone there speaks it well, but I read that English is taught in schools from an early age until high school graduation, so I would assume that most Puerto Ricans would be fairly decent at it, right? What is the truth here? How easy is it for English-speaking people to work and live in the area?

When down in St Thomas, I'm sure its better to use a taxi due to us "out of towners" not knowing where to go. But I am curious how much do both options cost?
What is the rate of a taxi down there?
Is it worth while to use it instead of renting a vehicle?
Thanks for any help :)

Also, are St. Croix and St. Thomas worth seeing? I only ask because we would have to take a Ferry over there.
Please let me know :)
