Soon, I will be staying 2 nights/ 3 days on St. Johns Island. What are some good sights to see and some fun things to do?
Also, are St. Croix and St. Thomas worth seeing? I only ask because we would have to take a Ferry over there.
Please let me know :)
Thank You!

Ok first its st.thomas. there is no island.
Second, st.thomas is where you want to go for shopping. St. John is more for relaxing and i dont know much about St.Croix.
Honeymoon Beach, Magens Bay, Coral World (morely for kids but worth seeing nonetheless), for shopping, you can go to Yatch Haven, Havensight and our capital Charlotte Amalie(all on STT).
Taking a ferry really isnt a big deal, its about a 10 minute ride. You have to take a seaplane though to get to STX...
St. Thomas is more tourist centered while STJ is mostly for the people who live there and so is STX. If any is worth seeing its stt and stj.
I really dont want to ruin the mood but St thomas is a very dangerous place, and im really not kidding. tourists come and go and they dont realize that it is realy dangerous. never ever be the last person on a safari bus. someone who vistied here got killed becasue they were the last person. always have a general idea of where you are going because sometimes the people driving the safaris take you somewhere else and rob you. stay in places with alot of people. i dont want to sound racist and i really isnt, but if u walk down a street and ur a tourist, you might not feel that way but beleive me, tourists stick out like black paint on a white canvas (no racist pun intended). anyway i suggest renting a car and parking it in fort.christan parking lot. its pretty much in the middle of all that you would want to see. St.thomas is a beautiful island and i hope you enjoy it! Also! Try not to stay in a hotel near the airport...it sounds convinient but its really dangerous there, i recommend the ritz or the marriott. they are safest.

St. Thomas is deffinately the shopping capital of the Virgin Islands. St. John is 2/3 undeveloped federaly perserved land so it has beautiful forest land nice beaches in is really quiet, relaxing and laid back. Previous poster talked about Coral World and although I agree it is a kid friendly envoirnment it is not geared towards kids. You can check out thier website at www.coralworldvi.com. There are quite a few historic venues to see on St Croix there is also the Cruzan Rum factory that you can tour and get free alcohol (which is always nice). St Croix also has great beaches and lots to see as it is the largest of the 3 Virgin Islands. Christianstead is the best part of St. Croix and is where the shopping is. You do have to take the seaplane over to St Croix though, no ferry although there is the boat which is aprox 2 hours each way so I dont recommend the boat.
I do agree with the previous poster to be careful in the Virgin Islands but its no more dangerous than any regular big city. If you wouldnt do it where you are from then dont do it in St Thomas. Renting a car is also a great idea, just remember that we drive on the left so it is going to be an adjustment for you. Also, St Thomas and St John are both quite hilly and have many sharp turns so be carful. Parking on the street during the middle of the day is going to be a better bet for your b/c you will need a stroke of luck to find a parking spot in the Fort Christian parking lot. Parking and driving in St Croix is a little easier b/c although its the largest island it is a little less crowded than St Thomas.

Even though you are staying on St. Thomas you can take a ferry from the Red Hook Dock to St. John. The ferry cost about $10 and you can also take your car over for about $25. St. Croix on the other hand can be traveled by plane or boat. It takes about 25 minutes by plane and cost about $120 and by boat that takes an hour an hour for $80 per person. The sites on St. John are a lot of National Parks and on St. Croix, Their is the Cruzan Rum Factory, Whim Museum, The Historical Forts, Buck Island that's a wildlife refuge that can be visited by sailboat. The day trip is about $60 and it includes lunch.

That's very far to go NOT to take the ferry and find out. Might as well make the most of your trip and make yourself good and tired trying to see everything that is there. I say some girls do that once. They spent all of that money and time to plan their trip, then got hesitant on the ferry . . . . . the best part was on the other side. But they never got on the ferry to find out. A long way to get cheap. In their case, they didn't want to spend the $22.00. I say See it ALL. Then you won't have to wonder what you missed
