Yes the hotel rates are cheaper, yet the sea keeps it from getting too hot, of course there's a slight risk of a hurricaine. But hey one of the reasons to go there is to gamble.

Going to the Bahamas in August is a good time, because the lodging rates should be lower. This is the slower tourist season.

However this is prime hurricane season as well so buy travel insurance.

I would go before the peak of hurricane season, plus if you go in like may or June, then you wouldn't have to worry about a lot of tourists, and "spring breakers" But if you're thinking of going to the Bahamas during August, I would go at the end of August, because not many tourists would be there.

i mean if u want sun and heat then yea. i live in the bahamas. like others say chance of hurricane but we havent had any hit nassau bahamas in few years.

i would check the weather center to keep an eye out for any storms of all kinds to be safe
