i won a cruise and want to know what line of cruise to go own?

We are meeting my sister and family in the Bahamas for Christmas. I live in Mexico. All US and Mexican airlines connect through Miami to reach Freeport, but since my Mexican boyfriend does not have a US visa, and they have eliminated the transit visa option, we have to find a way there without going through the US. Mexican airlines can get him to Cuba, but we cannot find flights from Cuba to Bahamas. We would very much appreciate any concrete recommendations you might have. Thanks!

Is it true that the weather is really wet and ugly during september?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what it is like to actually live in the Bahamas as an expat. My husband is looking at possible jobs there and I would like to know what it would be like to actually live there? Is it expensive? Are there lots of facilities for people living there, ie, Libraries, churches, grocery stores, recreational facilities? Is it easy to get around? Family of six (ages 14 and up) will be taking a trip to the Bahamas in March. Can't decide on cruise or just fly down and stay at the Atlantis resort. Does anyone have any experience with these two trips? Would love to hear your comments on the pros and cons.

I just can't decide....originally it was going to be Long Island or Cat Island but now not too sure because 1. heard the mosquitoes are bad and 2. I am pregnant and if there was an emergency these islands may be too remote. So, am now thinking Eleuthera or Harbour Island.
Requirements are really to be on a nice beach where you can swim and snorkel and just relax away from lot's of crowds and big hotels.

I already asked my trvael agent if we need a passport to take a cruise to the bahamas and she said no. All we need is a digital license and birth certificate. I have the copy with the raised seal, not my original. Will this be accepted?

My family is thinking of renting a house this year in Nassau Bahamas. My husband and I really want to go, but at that point we will have a 10 week old baby. Do you think it would be safe to take a baby to the Bahamas. It will be a very low key trip. Mostly sitting at the condo. I would definitely ask my doctor before going through with this, I'm just wondering some opinions. Thanks!
