take a boat from miami to nassau like a ferry or something not a cruise though

Doesn't matter, you will still need your passport for any boat trip to another country.

Maybe you can contact Discovery cruises. They operate a 6 hr cruise or ferry to Freeport in the Bahamas. Passports are not need to travel by sea until after the first of the year. You will need your Birth Certificate and a photo ID.
