Go snorkeling.
Cheap, easy and all ages can do it.
I have taken many snorkeling excurions and they are a great way to enjoy the water, the sun and the wildlife of that particular destination. It is great (especially if you live somewherecold) when you see fish youve only ever seen in books, tv, movies, aquarium and at petsmart selling for $117!
Its an amazing experience youll never forget. Also, pack an underwater camera, some of the fish are so colourful youll never forgive urself for not taking a picture.
Have a nice cruise *being jealous*

Go to either, or both, the Hog's Breath and the Schooner Wharf Bar. Sit back, relax, eat some oysters, have some beers, listen to some live music and just chill. THAT is what you do in Key West. Don't waste your time snorkling or diving. You are probably only there a few hours and I don't recommend doing the trolley tours unless you are SERIOUS about history. Forget the Hemingway house unless you love cats and just grab some beers and relax. I mean it, there is nothing I would rather do. Basically I pass my time between those 2 bars whenever I'm there.

Walk up to Duval and drink your way all the way to the other end. Great bars, lots of live entertainment and great things and people watching. Stay late and party hard. Right now while you are home you can look at "Key West Cams" and see the street action. Also look at the cams for Hogbreath Saloon, they have three. Give you a great idea of the attitude of Key West. Mel Fishers, Hemingways, Southernmost House in the US. And at sundown be sure you are at Mallory Square. Some great art shops too.

There are better places in the world to snorkel. I personally wouldn't waste your time. You will miss Key West. I think one of the BEST things to see in Key West is to see the SUNSET. One of my favorite places to see it is Mallory Square...and there's interesting street entertainment on Mallory Square while you wait. With that said, it's all about atmosphere there...every day/night is a FRIDAY night there. As you may have heard, there are many restaurants and bars in Key West. Well, you can just about drink anywhere, check out the popular bars--like Hogsbreath. It's ok to skip the places like Hard Rock in my opinion. As far as restaurants--my favorites are Mangoes, Kelly's, Blue Heaven (great breakfast place). Get conch fritters, key lime pie...etc. So--my suggestion is walk around and enjoy the view, restaurants, shopping and people. Even better, rent bikes or scooters and do that! We did that once, it was fun!! Key West is small enough to get around with bikes or scooters for a day. Also, don't forget the historic spots...like Hemingway's House, Audubon House, Southernmost point, Bahama district....and other historic marks. Have fun...enjoy your time.

I was just there two Monday's ago. It's a really cool place, other than the obvious bars(which my girlfriend and I went to 5 that Sunday evening) to go to you can visit the Mel Fisher museum, it's very interesting. There is another "pirate" museum there that just opened because of the whole "pirates of the carribean" thing. The sunset festival is good because there are a lot of street performers out doing all kinds of things.
