Tomorrow, Sunday night, I have to get to Shelburne Ontario Canada from Toronto airport, leaving around 8:30 pm.

I don't live in Toronto. I live Oakville, Ontario (just outside of the city) and every time I go to into Toronto I see homeless people all over the place, sitting next to over flowing garbage bins. Some even have the signs asking for money. The worst time is when there is a big game at the Rogers Center or AC center. They all come over and sit on the sidewalk on the main area where people walk into the stadiums. This is very sad, and it is also honestly very uncomfortable walking past homeless people everywhere you go ... very depressing.

I feel embarrassed when I travel to other parts of the country. Since a person from BC has probably never heard of Oakville as it's not a major city, I feel embarrassed having to say I live by Toronto. I don't think Torontonians realize that people in other Canadian cities look down on Toronto, while Toronto residents never shut up about how "clean" and sparkling their pristine city is, with wonderful "friendly" people. I find that hard to believe

I live in Erie, Pennsylvania, which is like 40 minutes on the thruway from Buffalo. Since we don't have much of a mall, we always go to Buffalo, and we go to the Walden Galleria and the parking lot is always filled with cars from Ontario. Seeing a New York state plate in the parking lot, is rare. The mall has a massive Canadian flag right next to the US one at the entrance.

So I'm just wondering, what it is that Canadians like so much about shopping in Buffalo, or the US? Cheaper prices? Different stores?

When we visited Toronto, we went to a big mall called the Eaton Center Mall and it was like 3 stories high, HUGE!!! So I don’t know why all the Canadians are going to Walden Galleria when you guys have that big one in Toronto??!??

hi, im an international student from japan.

i was just wondering why canadian people, especially
torontonians, brag about their winter so much.

They make it sound like toronto has one of the fiercest
winter among all the major cities around the world.

toronto is not so cold. it hasnt even snowed or gone down below 0 celcius, where as most of other regions in north east asia(hokkaido and korea), which is about same or lower latitude than toronto, has already snowed really heavily.

i think toronto can hardly be qualified as a part of the great north. besides it sucks so much in hockey.

also, it makes me laugh when i find so many torontonians
dont even know that they have alot of snow in major cities in north east asia like tokyo or seoul.

so whats with torontonians and their mild winter?
