So many reasons! It's been voted top 10 best country to live forever.
Great education system that produce most polite/ humane/ considerate and liberal human beings in the world. Canadian cities are culturally diverse, in one city block in Toronto, you get to sample food from all over the world. Very low crime rate, relatively affordable living standard, politically stable, clean environment, etc. Why not go to Canada?

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet. I guess this probably only really applies to Windsor... Anyhow, being from Michigan and living in Detroit for the developmental years of my late adolescence, I know that the main reason I ever went to Canada was to drink. The drinking age in Canada is 19. So as long as you stayed on their side while you had any kind of alcohol in you, it was perfectly legal. That was a HUGE draw for us because Windsor was less than a half hour away. (Not counting time crossing the bridge or using the tunnel which sometimes could be over an hour.) I'm not sure if the question was why do people visit Canada or why do people go there to live.

Hey Henry! I've never been either, but my boyfriend has been twice and wants to live there eventually. One of my best friends is also moving there in August! It seems to suck people in! Holidays are cheap so why don't you book a flight and go explore the place for a week or so, get a feel for it. I've heard that the people are genuine and friendly, the scenery is beautiful and the weather is pretty cold in the winter! Great if you like snowboarding and stuff! xx Emmie

People go to Canada for a couple of reasons. You can get meds for a cheap price, which is good considering in the USA they are an arm and a leg. Also, they tend to go there to escape the threat of being drafted and such. And some might even go for hockey, my friend would definately go for hockey she loves it.

why do people go anywhere? despite erroneous belief Canada is full of attractions. i live in British Columbia. it is the western-most province and therefore the youngest as settlement began in the east.
having travelled my province the most i dare say that we have almost everything possible except palm trees and/or jungle. the heart of our province sports arid desert like terrain during the hot season. on our coast ism the pacific ocean, on our border are the rocky mountains so there's plenty of skiing.
our three largest cities (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) are full of interesting sights and events like everywhere else. the world knows us as we've invited them to two world expo's and so many of them decided to stay thus we are a melting pot of world wide cultures. these influences may be witnessed should you come to Canada.
i could go on, probably forever, but I'd be writing a book and you'd have to pay me.

well for one thing the un has rated canada the best country in which to live for over 13 yrs straight
its a butiful country
great living conditions
very high litracy rate
very good healthcare
very low poverty rate
country whith second highest minimum wage
and much more why not

Well its not *no charge medical insurance* - but everyone gets medical assistance no matter what their circumstances (we pay medical thru our employers (I know I just went thru my Blue Cross Health spending dollars and deductions for next year with my employer) - as opposed to paying on the spot at the hospital - we don't get billed.
Prescriptions the same way - some are high cost but with insurance it sure helps.
Our crime rate is lower than a lot of places.
We have diversity in culture.
And where else can you get Tim Hortons and Poutine!!! :-)

Healthcare from birth, the hospitals may make you wait a little longer but not having to declare bankruptcy from a stay in the hospital, cheaper prescription drugs, open spacs, beautiful scenery,clean air, water we don't have to buy from anyone, ability to travel at ease with no fear of backlash, safer streets, ability to keep your culture yet be a part of society, great educational system

Well, I live in Canada and I will always live here. I think people come here for the beautiful scenery, fresh air, nice diverse people, free health care and opportunities.
